International Conference on Nanopore Sequencing Technologies Held at KRILF

On October 21–22, 2025, the Kazakh Research Institute of Livestock and Forage Production (KRILF) in Almaty is hosting a two-day practical conference titled “From Sample to Sequence: Discover the Power of Oxford Nanopore Technologies”, organized in collaboration with Techprime.

Participants are exploring the latest approaches in nanopore sequencing, the Adaptive sampling (targeted enrichment) method, and advanced applications for the analysis of plant, animal, and microbial genomes, as well as microbial communities.

The conference program includes hands-on workshops on library preparation for sequencing using PromethION instruments (Oxford Nanopore Technologies) and data processing with the EPI2ME (Bioinformatics) platform.

Speakers include:

  • Ashan Musafer, MSc MBAField Application Scientist, Oxford Nanopore Technologies, MECA (Middle East & Central Asia)

  • Alina TeplyukProduct Manager for Nanopore Sequencing, Techprime

  • Timur YagudinHead of FAS Department, Techprime

The event aims to strengthen the expertise of Kazakhstani researchers in genomics and promote the adoption of cutting-edge sequencing technologies in scientific and industrial projects.
