KRILF Laboratory Awarded ISAG International Certificate for Horse Genetic Testing

The Molecular Genetic Analysis Laboratory of the Kazakh Research Institute of Livestock and Forage Production (KRILF) has successfully passed The 2024–2025 International Horse (Equus caballus) STR DNA Typing Comparison Tests, organized by the International Society for Animal Genetics (ISAG).

As a result, the laboratory was awarded an international certificate confirming the accuracy of genotyping results based on 17 ISAG-recommended STR markers and compliance with global standards.

The certificate demonstrates that KRILF’s laboratory:

  • ensures highly accurate identification of horse genotypes using STR markers;

  • meets international requirements in STR genotyping;

  • is authorized to perform reliable parentage verification, issue genetic passports, and support scientifically based breeding decisions.

This achievement confirms KRILF’s ability to provide world-class genetic testing services to Kazakhstan’s horse breeding industry.
