International Seminar on Sheep Breeding Development Held in Abai Region

On September 25 of this year, an International Seminar-Meeting on the Development of Domestic Sheep Breeding was held in the Abai Region. The event was attended by the Akim of the Abai Region, Berik Uali; President of the National Agrarian Science Academy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Academician of the NAS RK, Tlektes Isabayuly Espolov; scientists from the Kazakh Research Institute of Livestock and Foraging (KRILF), the Institute of Agricultural Economics and Rural Development, Shakarim University, and representatives of the “Eurasia AgroSemey” company. The meeting also gathered heads and specialists of agricultural institutions from Abai, Pavlodar, and East Kazakhstan regions, representatives of the Republican Chambers of Sheep Breeds, sheep farming enterprises, and leading domestic and international experts in livestock science.
The seminar comprehensively addressed issues of increasing the export potential of Kazakhstan’s sheep breeding sector, improving breeding practices, and introducing innovative production technologies. The head of the Sheep Breeding Department of KRILF, Temirkhan Erdyshuly Kenzhebayev, delivered a report presenting the results of selection and technological research, highlighting methods and recommendations to enhance the efficiency and productivity of the sector.
As part of the practical section of the seminar, participants visited LLP “Prirechinskoe,” where the “Eurasia AgroSemey” company is implementing a project to construct a modern meat processing plant. Attendees familiarized themselves with the progress of construction and production works, discussed the integration of scientific innovations into industrial practice, and explored prospects for expanding meat processing in the region.
The seminar became an important platform for uniting efforts of science, business, and government bodies aimed at modernizing Kazakhstan’s sheep breeding industry, enhancing the competitiveness of domestic products, and strengthening the export potential of the sector.
