Researchers from the Beekeeping Department of the Kazakh Research Institute of Livestock and Forage Production (KRILF) conducted a field expedition as part of the scientific program titled “Development of an Integrated System for Managing Genetic Resources of Beekeeping and Technologies for the Effective Use of Bees in Pollination and Organic Production.”
The expedition took place at the stationary apiary of IP "Baizhigitov," located in the Karakoңyz gorge of Kordai district, Zhambyl Region. The study focused on evaluating the local honeybee population, forming selection groups, and conducting a comprehensive assessment of local bee colonies based on biological, morphological, and economically valuable traits.
The main objective of this research is to conserve and enhance Kazakhstan’s native honeybee populations, which are well adapted to local conditions and possess high potential for sustainable beekeeping development in the region.
