Field Day - UN: International Pasture Day

International Year of Pastures and Pasture Breeders — 2026
As part of the International Year of Pasture Lands and Pastoral Breeders announced by the United Nations, Field Day was held on July 14, organized by the FAO and the Association of Environmental Organizations of Kazakhstan with the active participation of employees of Kazniizhik LLP and the farming community.
The staff of the Kazakh Scientific Research Institute of Animal Husbandry and Feed Production (KAZNIIZHIK) demonstrated successful practices of integrated management and rational use of pastures, presented modern approaches to accelerated restoration of productivity of degraded pastures, and shared their experience in involving farmers, local executive bodies, public associations, women and youth in the development and implementation of Pasture Management Plans in accordance with the Law. On this day, a lecture on "Priority areas of carbonation of pastures in Kazakhstan" was held at the Mobile School of Pasture Users of KAZNIIZHIK, where modern scientific approaches to increasing the sustainability of pasture ecosystems and reducing the carbon footprint were considered.
The event was attended by representatives of local executive bodies, relevant departments in the field of agriculture, land relations and agroforestry, as well as members of public councils, farms and pasture users.
Such meetings contribute to the exchange of experience, the introduction of scientific developments into practice and the development of sustainable pasture husbandry in Kazakhstan.
